F---Forbidden city

The Forbidden City was so called because entry to commoners was strictly forbidden .
Comprising of about 980 buildings, the Forbidden city covers about 720,000 sq.m.area.

Once you enter these gates, there is only one way to go....forward !

Once home to the Emperor and his family and the offices, this huge complex now houses museums.

Good luck!

  9. What a fascinating place. So huge, and everything is museums?? it's so sad that they make such things so commercial :(

  11. I remember visiting the Forbidden City for the first time when I was 15. Our tour guide's name was Shrek. It's a very regal and intimidating place--and if you go during the summer, as I did, it's unbearably hot and humid.
